Psalm 30:5
“For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.“
Our God is a Just God. We often see in His Word how He displays His justice. Our God is slow to anger, which shows He can be angered however His anger lasts short. In the books of Exodus, Joshua and Judges, we see God is angered due to the unbelief of His people, turning to different gods and the evil desires of their hearts.
We also see when people repent and turn away from their wicked ways and trust God, He restores them always. When we decide to follow God, we may weep in the night, probably all night, but God will make sure that dawn will break and joy will come through.
When somebody wrongs us, then realizes their mistake and expects reconciliation, we might favor them momentarily until they don’t upset us again. But God’s word says, “His favor is for life” whether we please Him or go against Him, His favor does not cease.
Today, this truth should encourage us to inspect ourselves. Is there anything in us that can anger God? If yes, our joy is just repentance away. A willing, obedient, repentant heart will surely be considered, and weeping will turn into Joy, mourning into dancing. That is who Our God is.
Blessed Day Ahead
