Let us go into His tabernacle; let us worship at His footstool. Psalm 132:7
The Psalmist in this verse sends us a pressing call to enter God’s throne and worship in adoration at His footstool. It is an invitation to draw near to God’s dwelling place and bow down in adoration at His footstool. Worship is not just a proclamation of praise but an act of humility and surrender.
It involves recognising our dependence on God and acknowledging His greatness. It is an attitude of reverence and awe that directs our focus away from ourselves and towards the One deserving of our worship. We realise our limitations and are willing to submit ourselves to God’s sovereign rule. Worship at His footstool denotes the deepest humility and the profoundest prostration and reverence.
In our moments of worship, either through prayer, song, or reflection, cultivate a spirit of reverence. Recognise the holiness of the One before whose footstool you stand. In times of distress, lean not on your own understanding, trust in the Lord, and humbly submit to Him.
