Worship Like David Did

Psalm 138:2 – “I will worship toward Your holy temple, And praise Your name. For your loving-kindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.”

Don’t you just love the determination of David?

His devotion and adoration and confidence are contagious. His readiness to praise the name of the Lord. Not “a” name, but “the” name, name above all names, name faithful to His every promise and purpose.

Like David, we need to be ready to adore and worship God and say “I love the house where you live, O Lord, the place where your glory dwells.” (Psalm 26:8)  Ready to adore, worship and be thankful to God for His love, mercy, righteousness and truth.

Like David, to be ever thankful to the Lord, and say “Your loving kindness is before my eyes, and I have walked in your truth.” (Psalm 26:3)

Like David, we can worship by lifting up our hands towards the heavens, where our God dwells, and from where His mercy flows.  Because, “though the Lord is on high, He looks upon the lowly.” (Psalm 138:6)

And finally, like David, to dance before the LORD with all our might and with shouts of joy! (2 Samuel 6: 14-15)
