Yoke Breaker!

In that day their burden will be lifted from your shoulders,  their yoke from your neck; the yoke will be broken because you have grown so fat – Isaiah 10:27 (NIV)

Yoke is a wooden rod fastened around an animal’s neck. It makes it easy to control the animal and enables it to pull and bear huge loads. Yokes frequently represent oppression and captivity.

Background information to today’s verse: The Assyrian king had taken control of Judah’s cities, demanded enormous tribute and disrespected our God that Judah worshipped. God sent the prophet Isaiah to declare to the worried king Hezekiah that God would break the Assyrian yoke, but all that Judah had to do as a nation was to trust God.

Likewise, we are surrounded every day with burdens. We tend to view our problems as part of life, like duties we must do without “bothering” God. The enemy’s yoke on our neck is to mislead us from God. We do not need to bear that weight any longer.

We need to run to God and depend on Him to help us with the complex tasks in our lives; we must acknowledge our worries, entrust them to God, and have faith that He will provide for us as He has promised. Since we are His chosen children, God will destroy that yoke, leading us triumphantly on earth and even into eternity.

The anointing on us is to set us free, so we serve our Lord in that liberty.

      Dear Cynia,
Praying for and your family. Please read Ezekiel 18 to know more about how the Lord says about generational curses. Romans 8:1 is a promise to those who are in the Lord.
