You Have Life!

John 6:47 – “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.”

Can you imagine Jesus sitting in front of you, looking into your eyes, intently and intentionally, holding your hand, and saying to you: “Now, really, I absolutely mean what I am saying to you right now, it is serious, it is not a joke, I am not bluffing, I know what I am talking about, and you just have to believe in the words that I am speaking to you, you just have to believe in Me, and when you do, I guarantee you with all that I am, that you HAVE eternal life.  And I don’t mean it in the future, it is not for later or tomorrow, but it is right now!

Wow! It is a promise coming straight from our Jesus’ mouth! He assures us of this! We have eternal life!  To know this is comforting, soothing, encouraging! It doesn’t matter what happens, we have His word. His word is true, His promises are Yes and Amen, His word does not fail, because He Never Fails!

Recently a Pastor spoke about Jesus on the cross.  Beaten, bleeding, crushed, and still full of mercy and forgiveness.  So compassionate that the first man to enter heaven with Him was a thief, a murderer, who believed that Jesus was Who He Said He Was. And Jesus guaranteed this man: “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise”. (Luke 23:43).  And this was one of the last things Jesus said before he died.

That thief believed, repented, got saved instantly, and received eternal life.

“Jesus, thank you – thank you, we believe in You! Amen!”
