You’re in God’s palms

Isaiah 49:16 – “Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.”

This is one verse that really gladdens our hearts when we hear it. It is nice to know that we are engraved on God’s hands. But do we really live like we believe it? The same hands that fashioned man out of clay, hold us on our difficult days. The hands that were nailed to the cross, now bend down to wipe our tears. Our Almighty Father, who has a legion of angels at his disposal, sees us continually.

People consult with palm readers to find out what lies in their future. But our Lord holds us – our past, present and future, right in his palms. We are safe in Christ’s hands. As long as we remain there, we will find provision, protection, and His presence above all. No enemy would dare pluck us out of God’s hands. That is the confidence we have in Christ.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for engraving me on the palm of Your hands. May I never forget that the safest place to be, is in the center of Your will. Help me not be consumed with fear and worry about what the future holds. You hold my forgiven past, grace-filled present and hopeful future in your hands. I believe you see me continually, and you know what’s best for me. Help me rest in the assurance that I am safe in Your arms today. Amen.
