John 14:27: Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth give I unto you, Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Jesus left his peace with us when He went to His Father. The peace that Jesus gives us is not like the one that the world gives us. Worldly peace is momentary but the peace that Jesus gives us is everlasting, and which surpasseth all understanding.
Jesus said let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid because He left his peace with us. Godly peace leaves us with comfort amidst our troublesome life and its worrisome challenges. The peace that Jesus gives us is a different quality of peace. The peace that the world gives is a kind of peace we have when everything is going as per our schedule, but it definitely does not match with the peace that Jesus has to offer. When we get agitated and frustrated and fed up of our lives, the peace that Jesus gives us comforts us. It is far beyond our understanding because we cannot comprehend its nature nor its quality. Jesus said that He is leaving His peace with us. It is not just a one-day affair. He has left it with us meaning it will be with us as long as we realize it and apply it in our lives.
