Sufficient Grace

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭9:8 – “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.”

We each have our strengths and weaknesses. When a task falls within our area of expertise, we undertake it with joy and confidence. However, if we’re asked to do something that we’re not so good at, we hesitate and linger long over the task, even procrastinating it at times. But life is such that we’ll eventually have to do things that we might not really be good at.

Whether it’s part of our job description or a personal responsibility, the tasks we struggle with are a clear indication of our incompetency. But we don’t like to be incompetent, do we? Well, neither does God. He wants us to be excellent at what we do, and He helps us by pouring out His grace in the areas that we fall short.

The next time you feel discouraged by the task in front of you, consider who you are depending on. Are you relying on yourself – your own wisdom, strength, talent and experience? Or are you depending on God to help you, one step at a time? God has promised us His grace that we may abound in every good work. His grace is sufficient for all you need to accomplish today!
