Job 36:11 If they obey and serve Him, They shall spend their days in prosperity, And their years in pleasures.
Where do we take refuge when things go wrong?
Do we look for quick fixes or trust God’s long term plan?
The choice we make can have a telling impact on our future!
Naaman was a mighty warrior in the land of Aram.
But, he had leprosy.
There was no cure for the disease, or so he believed, until a prisoner of war, who worked as a maid in his house, told him about Elisha – the man of God!
Pause for a moment to think about the faith of that little girl.
She did not hesitate to tell Namaan about Elisha, though she knew full well that if he wasn’t cured, she would face dire consequences.
Gehazi (Elisha’s servant), on the other hand, ran after Namaan to secretly take gifts that Elisha had declined.
Caught after the act, Gehazi spent the rest of his life as a leper. – 2 Kings 5:1-27
Two helpers under two masters in different nations:
One walked closely with a man of God in God’s chosen nation. The other was a prisoner of war in a foreign country.
One contracted leprosy for disobeying God, the other was blessed with prosperity for her unconditional union with God.
It is wise to remain in union with God, irrespective of your situation, because in the long run God’s plan is always “…to prosper you and not to harm you…”. – Jeremiah 29:11
