Psalm 139:17 – “How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!”
“Let me know your thoughts.”
It’s a sentence we often use to get another person’s opinion. It could be a plan you’re making with a friend, a project you’re submitting to the client, or a pitch you’re making to a stakeholder. When we ask someone what they think, it means you value their opinion. You genuinely care about their thoughts and you want their input so you can make your work better.
When was the last time you asked God what He thinks? Obviously, the Creator of the universe, the One who fashioned you in His own image must have some thoughts about your life and your plans. Do you value God’s thoughts enough to ask Him about it? The Psalmist certainly did. He knew God’s thoughts were vast and varied, but also precious to him.
Nobody can truly comprehend everything in God’s mind, but we have a certain degree of understanding because of Christ in us. 1 Corinthians 2:16 says, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.” The next time you pray, ask God what He thinks. Seek God’s opinion on whatever you’re planning regarding your career, family, finances, relationships or future.
Prayer: Father, I thank you that the thoughts you think towards me are for a hope and a good future. Let me know what You think, Lord. I value Your opinion. In Jesus’s Name, Amen.
