2 Corinthians 5:17
We need to use our senses and renew them to see the newness of everything around us.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new.
The book of Genesis speaks about creation. The word ‘creation’ means the action or process of bringing something into existence. A pregnant woman brings into existence and gives birth to a newborn baby. A small child when he or she receives a gift gets something new. A marriage between a man and a woman shows them something new. A man hunting for a job or a house enters into something new A young girl entering puberty is something new. A young man entering into old age and using a walking stick is new.
Can we all relate to these experiences that all of us might have had or are having at this time and moment?
Those very moments are shortlived and we experience it for a short time. As time goes by we learn to outlive them and it becomes a part of us. It becomes a story, an experience but every time we think or go back to the time we feel new. Jesus is like that in our lives. Every time we go back to him and every time we decide to walk closer to him we learn something new. That learning to change or new identity or a new character or new habit makes us see a new creation within us. The Lord did not stop creating only in the book of Genesis, but he still continues to do so every day in our lives.
The question is, How long and how far?
