Psalm 116:6: The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.
This is a wonderful verse and it also is a promise that we can rely upon. The Bible teaches us that God gives grace to the humble and resists the proud. God loves people who do not throw their weight around. God loves people who are pure and sincere in heart. He loves the ones who are simple as in able to trust Him for all their wants and needs.
David trusted God at His word. He was so very confident to say that the Lord will preserve or keep the simple. Simple refers to those who sincerely trust God, one whose heart is without guile or malice. The Lord will definitely preserve such a one as that. When David was brought low because of his troubles, God helped him. He did not trust in his army or his power. He showed God that he trusts Him more than anyone or anything in the world. He also showed to God by relying in His power that it was only Him who mattered the most. When we are brought low or when we are suspended like a bucket in the air, when we are sick, when we have lost everything, God will help and comfort us. God will protect His children who walk before Him with purity and integrity of heart. They will be preserved or be kept safe from all their enemies.
The same God who did not allow the enemies to harm David will keep us safe too. No pandemic or epidemic of any kind will ever touch God’s children. No plague will ever come near our dwelling because we have made the Lord Most High as our God.
