Psalm 57:5

“Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let Your glory be above all the earth.”

David wrote Psalm 57 when he fled from Saul into the cave. Psalm 57 talks about David’s distress and precarious situation, yet David expresses his faith and confidence in God. Amid his adversaries, David praises and glorifies God by trusting God’s power and sovereignty over His creation. This beautiful context reflects the true meaning and importance of praising God, irrespective of the situation we are in.

It takes courage and faith to praise God when everything around us falls apart, but let us always remember one thing: every test we face today is tomorrow’s testimony. No one can comprehend God’s wisdom and plans for us, but He does everything for a reason. As 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 says, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
