Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.
With our human nature and fleeting emotions, we often respond to situations based on what we feel or anticipate rather than remembering what God has promised. Many times, fleshly weakness and traumatic reflexes shape our reactions more than faith does.
The Israelites faced formidable foes, and their faltering faith caused them to question whether they would truly enter the land God had promised them. In that moment, Moses reminds them that the Lord Himself would go with them wherever they went.
Even after witnessing miracles that altered impossible situations, the Israelites still struggled with fear in the face of danger. In the same way, our feelings may cause us to doubt the outcome of our difficult situations. But we must not allow fear to consume our hearts, no matter the size of the challenge before us.
The Lord our God was faithful during the exodus of the Israelites. And the fulfilment of His promises is evident throughout the Bible. He will carry us through our present storms and lead us into the promised land He has prepared for us. As we walk with Him in faith and heed His guidance, He prepares us not only to receive His blessings but also to steward them well.
Prayer: Almighty God, thank You for Your strength that carries us through troubled times. May we always rely on Your abundant grace and everlasting arms. Help us not to fear what we see around us, but walk each day with the confidence that You are with us. Amen.
