Psalms 84:1-2
“How lovely is Your dwelling place, Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.”
Today’s verse emphasizes the importance of seeking God earnestly. It urges believers to seek God with deep longing and devotion. It reminds us that when we pursue God with a pure heart, we will have an encounter with Him.
Now, you may ask, why do we as believers need to actively pursue God? It is done with the intention of strengthening our relationship with Him. Getting closer to God ensures His divine presence in our lives. This leads to a profound transformation in every aspect of our lives: our character, lifestyle, attitude, and thought patterns. We start growing in wisdom, love, and patience. We become more Christ-like, and our choices become more godly and less worldly. God helps us make changes in our lives to reflect His purpose and fulfil His desires. We come to the realization that we belong to Him and were created to worship Him.
So, when was the last time you sat in His presence? Did you know that God is waiting to have a relationship with you? Today, let this be our reminder to be passionate for God and seek after Him wholeheartedly. When we yearn for Him, He will meet us where we are and transform us from within. His love will shape every aspect of our lives. After all, it’s not always about His riches and blessings, but about becoming the person He created us to be.
