Power of God’s word

Isaiah 55:10-11:  For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater; so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Rain and snow falls on the earth for a purpose as as to make the plants grow and for them to produce more seeds and also food for everyone out of the plants.  In the same way, every word that proceeds from the mouth of God over His children will prosper.  God’s word will accomplish the work that it has been sent for from Him.

When God speaks something, He really means it.  He does not change what He says.  When He says something, He says it based on His goodness and His credibility.  He trusts Himself to perform what He says.  He does not think from our point of view or our ability.  He says it based on His true character and nature.  His word will accomplish the purpose that He has sent it for.  It will never go back to Him without fulfilling the work that it was supposed to do in our lives.

The rain and the snow come in their due season, finish their work and make way for the next season to come.  In the same way, God’s word comes and accomplishes His word in our life in God’s own time.  When it comes in our life, nothing can obstruct it or alter its timing.  God’s word sent by God knows to do its work provided we happily receive it by faith and wait for it to act upon us.
