In his holiness

1 Thessalonians 5 :23 -24

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

Man cannot achieve holiness by his futile efforts. Holiness is a journey with the Lord. Its stripping ourselves from every form of envious thought towards ourselves and our brethren.Being holy is not a decision we can take. Its only the grace of our Lord that can teach us the path to holiness. Its only the deep cleansing and sanctification by our Lord that keeps us blameless.

We are his chosen vessels and the choice is ours alone. When Jesus taught the people during his time he did not tell them a story about how to be holy. He taught them one thing – how to live life? Today also Jesus teaches the same. Live life everyday as a blessed aroma unto his throne pleasing to him and his holiness. We need to take hold of every thought and every action that springs out from the desire to sin and the desire of the flesh. We need to understand in his wisdom how to use our senses. We need to imitate his holiness. We need to rebuke the devil when he uses our senses or the subtle ways  to walk in the path of unholiness.

We serve a faithful God and we have seen it many times in our individual lives. Therefore, let us hold on to the cross and to his resurrected power and love – preaching the good news of his kingdom and being the light and salt for others just as he is the light for us.
