John 14:2

In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I got to prepare a place for you

During His earthly mission, Lord Jesus healed the broken-hearted, He set the captives free, He caused the lame to walk again and made the blind to see. He comforted the sorrowing heart and even gave them food when they were hungry.

But as the time was approaching for Lord Jesus to be separated from His disciples, He knew the disciples would face a lot of troubles. The disciples would have to go into hiding. They would  be mocked and insulted. They would need faith and hope to survive the bad days.

Our Lord was comforting them with His loving words. He tells them not to let their hearts be troubled, but just believe. This separation is only for a short time. He is going before them and making a way for them. They will be given a place in Heaven, His dwelling place. Lord Jesus promises them that there will be a reunion and they will have fellowship with Him again.

The promises of the Lord Jesus were not just to His disciples. It is relevant even today. He is talking to each one of us. During our stay on the earth, there will be seasons of uncertainty and troubles of all kinds.

If we are broken hearted today, remember He heals the broken hearted. If we need peace, He will fill us with His peace and comfort. If we need guidance, He will show us the way. If we need forgiveness from our sins, He will forgive us and make us pure and holy, and one sweet day we will have fellowship with Him

Let us continue to trust Him and we will see His mighty power working in and throughout our lives today. In John 14:1 Lord Jesus says “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.”
