Micah 7:18
“Who is a God like You, Pardoning iniquity And passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights in mercy.“
Micah 7:18 is a scripture that lists the beautiful qualities of our glorious God. All through the old testament, we did witness these attributes of God. We see people’s sins bring them into bondage and it was God’s pardoning that brought them out of it. Pardon of sin is the beginning of all other covenant mercies.
Our gracious God is ready to pass by and pardon the iniquity and transgression of His people upon their repentance and return to Him. His anger is for a moment but His love abounds. He does not retain His anger forever, because He is a merciful God.
There is none like our God. This knowledge of His mercy should encourage us to be quick in turning back to Him. We need the compassion, forgiveness, and kindness of our Saviour to enable us to walk with Him all the days of our life. No sin can separate us from the love and thereby mercy of our God. He waits for us with arms wide open. When we yield to Holy Spirit’s conviction and repent from our sins He is quick to restore us. Oh! what a blessed assurance, that we are held in the arms of Everlasting Father, Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God and Yes there is none like Him.
