But the Victory comes from the Lord

Proverbs 21:31

The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but deliverance is of the Lord.

When we read the history recorded in the Old Testament, multiple battles have been won with great miracles and fewer human efforts, signifying that God played a major role in those victories.

Even though preparations for a battle are done, only God can ultimately give us victory and deliver us. God can win all battles without armies or weapons, but no army can win a battle without God.

Sometimes we get deceived by success and accomplishments and quickly become proud. We get a false inclination that our achievements are due to our own good. Yes, our talents and skills do play a part, but to have faith in them will not endure the test of time.

Let us take the example of a student preparing for the final examination. The child has to do all the necessary preparation for the exam to top the batch. But the child also needs strength to prepare and wisdom to understand the questions better in the examination. Similarly, we can prepare well for interviews, projects, and various other situations, but the end result is entirely in God’s hands.

Even today, in most areas of our lives, we face challenges and see ourselves in inconvenient circumstances. We can do our best to face battles, but the deliverance only comes from the Lord in the end. God will give us the strength to overcome obstacles and provide wisdom to handle situations.

Let us learn to place our faith in God and not in the external aspects.
