Sing to the Lord! Praise the Lord! For He has delivered the life of the poor from the hand of evildoers. Jeremiah 20:13
How many times have we passionately followed God’s calling but faced only discouragement? Like you, Prophet Jeremiah, too, faced discouragement. So much that he cursed the day he was born.
Jeremiah faithfully announced God’s message, only to have his people mock and curse him! He was passionate about proclaiming God’s message to the people. He could not contain it within himself. But this only turned his friends against him to treacherously plot his downfall. But when he remembers God is on his side, he is assured that his enemies will not overcome him, and he can say, “Sing to the Lord! Praise the Lord! For He has delivered the life of the poor from the hand of evildoers.”
If you are discouraged and feel like giving up, you are looking at the wrong thing. Shift your focus from the failure and the mockery and zoom in to God. Is he with you in what you are doing? If yes, press on because God never promised an easy road, but He did guarantee that His yoke was easy and His burdens light. He knows what He is doing.
