1 Thessalonians 5:23-24
The God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.
We serve the God of peace! The Bible describes Jesus as the Prince of Peace. He brings calm in the midst of chaos. Our modern-day life can be overwhelming; however, God’s peace and presence are with us. Even during turbulent circumstances, He keeps our souls steady.
God cares about every aspect of our lives. His peace is not restricted to our spiritual life but extends to our emotions, thoughts, and well-being.
In today’s verse, Paul reminds us that God makes us holy and sets us apart for His purposes. Therefore, we are called to live differently from the world and not follow its patterns. When God sanctifies us, His peace is reflected in our actions, and our lives become a testimony. The people around us notice the difference and are inspired to know our Lord Jesus.
This is not something we achieve by our own strength, but through God’s power at work within us. Our role is to trust Him, bring our spirit, soul, and body before Him, and allow Him to shape us according to His will.
Finally, Paul assures us that He who calls us is faithful. The same God who worked throughout history is faithful today. If He brought peace before, He will do it again. He’s called us to live set apart, walk in His peace, and reflect His glory.
Let us thank our Lord for His peace and faithfulness. Let’s rely on His help to lead purposeful lives according to His will. Amen!
