God, our Deliverer

Jeremiah 20:13:  Sing unto the Lord, praise ye the Lord: for he hath delivered the soul of the poor from the hand of evildoers.

Jeremiah had some persecutors who persecuted him.  He was complaining to God about his enemies who were mocking him, but in verse 13, there is a shift in his character from complaining about his situation to praising God for the deliverance he received because of God’s mercy.

Sometimes we only see the situation or the hardship that we are in.  We are so blinded by the fact that God can deliver us or set us free from any kind of circumstance. Praising Him at all times paves way for miracles.  The sooner we realize the power of God, the better life is going to be for us.  We should learn to sing to God even when things do not look good.  We have to praise Him despite the deep waters.  God’s word says that even if we walk through the fire or pass through the waters or rivers, they will not harm us.  Even if we have physical enemies all around us, they will not be able to stand against us because we belong to God.  No weapon formed against us will prosper and every tongue that rises against us, we shall condemn.  God said to Joshua that no one will be able to stand against him all the days of his life.  Our God is able.  He is worthy of all praise.

Jeremiah understood and acknowledged the fact that God delivers the soul of the poor from the hand of the evildoers.  God protects everyone who calls on His name and who know that He is trustworthy.
