God, the promise keeper

I Kings 8:56:  Blessed be the Lord, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised; there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hands of Moses his servant.

This is the prayer of Solomon in a thanksgiving note to God at the dedication of the new place of worship.  He was thankful to God because He gave the Israelites rest.  All that God had promised through Moses for Israel had come to pass.  God made them dwell in the promised land, to which they were very grateful.

Our God is a faithful God.  Everything that He has promised will surely come to pass.  Sometimes it will not happen in one go.  We may have to wait for them to come to pass.  God had promised the Israelites the promised land, but not all of them saw it.  Some perished in the desert due to plaques, some due to earthquake, etc.  Yet God was faithful in His word.  He fulfilled what He said He would.  There was a delay because the people disobeyed and sinned against Him and doubted Him despite seeing His mighty acts and power.  Many times, the devil does this to us.  He causes unnecessary fear and doubts deep in our hearts for us to doubt God’s promises and be disappointed.  We should understand that these things are not from God.  In order for us to enjoy all of God’s promises, we should believe and trust God at His word.

God never fails in His promises.  Even if it is late, it will surely come to pass.  Sometimes delays are meant for our own good.  Get a step closer to God and believe Him from the depth of your heart.
