God’s Divine Attributes

Psalm 103:17 (NKJV): The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness to children’s children.

Have you ever wondered as to who you worship, or pray to, or even to who you surrender your life?

Let’s look back to our loved ones, to start with, our parents: loving, caring, compassionate; however, we also remember the disappointed look, the anger at disobedience, and lies. From love to anger, disappointment, being strict, not wavering at decisions, not hearing your side, cuddling, acting silly with us, there is a whole rainbow of characteristics that we peg on our parents to describe them.

Looking at the whole scripture – God forgives, heals, redeems, crowns, satisfies, is righteousness, justice, merciful and gracious, makes His ways known, slow to anger, does not deal according to sins, pities us, knows us and our beginning from dust.

Here is someone who knew us before we were born, who moulded us from dust and put us on Earth with a purpose for His glory, who looks after every step we take on this Earth if we allow Him. These are the characteristics that we see in every parent and then much more! Which parent is an epitome of mercy and graciousness, merciful from before we were born till even after we exist, who nudges righteousness to us and our generations?

Who can ever be described like this on Earth? No one. None compares, or lives across generations to everlasting and none wants what’s only best for us.
