The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made. All your works praise you, Lord; your faithful people extol you. Psalm 145:9-10(NIV)

David’s final psalm, Psalm 145, is an expression of his adoration for our good and compassionate God.

One of God’s qualities and a description of His nature is goodness. God is morally upright and perfectly good by nature. He provided us with His salvation through His son out of His compassion. God always provides good things for us. The crops that provide our food and the air we breathe are examples of the life-sustaining necessities He gives as evidence of His benevolence. Each day, we are to show people the kindness and compassion of God in the way we live.

Compassion is not merely a feeling but an emotion that inspires action. God is full of compassion toward us. He cares about His people. We should rely on God to demonstrate His compassion when we are going through trying times. He will navigate each challenging situation we encounter in life and give us the grace to go through it. There is no shortage of compassion with the Lord.

An expression of appreciation and praise is the appropriate response to God’s goodness and compassion. We will bow down in reverence when we truly see God’s hands in our lives. A life changed by God’s compassion and mercy calls forth utmost praise and heartfelt worship to the Lord.
