Guarantee of Eternal Life

“This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.”

John 6:39

ALL that the Father gives me will come to Me, and whoever comes to Me I will never drive away.

(John 6:37)

The “all” is here neuter, referring to the whole extent of the Messianic work. Vast as this is, beyond our power of thought, including all times, and all places, and all nations, and it maybe other worlds, it is the divine will that nothing should be lost. In the moral, as well as in the physical world, no force can perish. (Ellicott)”.

What an incredible work and assignment the Creator of the Universe gave to His only son, Jesus Christ. We are given to Jesus by God: how amazing! And all of us who come to Jesus, He will never drive away! We are His, and He does not give us up!

God is so caring and has such love for us, that He said that He “will raise up shepherds over (us) who will tend (us), and (we) will no longer be afraid or dismayed, nor will any (of us) go missing, declares the LORD.” (Jeremiah 23:4).

And the story does not end here: Jesus will raise us up at the last day, because this is our Father’s will: “that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life”. (John 6:40b).

How do we make sure that we don’t miss out on this supernatural-beyond-our-imagination resurrection to eternal life? We “listen to the Father and learn from Him”. (John 6:45a).

Thank you Father for your amazing love for us, thank you for sending us Jesus, and for giving us to Him. Amen!
