Psalms 46:10 – “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
Being still is not a familiar habit in the urban culture. We’re used to always being on the go, stopping only for the bare necessities or to engage with technology. Even if we do find some time for ourselves, our minds are probably running a mile a minute.
Being still is not as easy as we may expect it to be. And yet, stillness is exactly what God expects from us. When you have a million things on your to-do list and a zillion thoughts flooding your mind, take a few minutes to calm yourself in the presence of the Lord. Be still and remember who your God is.
The One who created the oceans and stilled the winds holds you in the palm of His hands. He is still God and He is still on the throne. God is above everything else you may be facing this week. Still your anxious heart and trust in God. He will work it all out in the end.
