“The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. Cherish her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you.” Proverbs 4:7-8
The secular world has taught us that power, influence and money is what makes a happy and successful life. Well, this is far from the truth.
Before we delve into today’s verse, let us be sure of one thing that God is not against wealth or against the people who have it. In fact, our God desires to see His children wealthy and well kept. He takes a personal interest in our well-being. He knows that we live in a world dominated by money and riches, and does not want anyone to be left behind or feel disadvantaged.
It is due to His mindfulness towards us, that He through the above scripture encourages us to pray and seek after wisdom. Wisdom cannot be bought or borrowed. It can be acquired only by reading God’s word daily and meditating on His teachings. God’s wisdom is infinite, and one cannot comprehend its worth. God’s wisdom equips us to face the world and overcome our troubles. It further protects us from the wiles of the enemy and keeps us from committing sin.
God’s wisdom brings honor, peace and understanding. It is truly the secret to a happy and successful future as it brings abundance of knowledge and blessings.
Prayer : Dear God, thank you for Your wisdom, which is more precious than any wealth of this world. Enable me to always aspire and pray for wisdom so that I may improve my standard of life. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
