Intentionally Grateful

Psalm 107:8

“Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!”

We say the words “thank you” a lot in our lives. We thank the delivery person when they drop off a parcel. We thank a family member who helped us with something at home. We thank our colleagues at the end of a meeting. We might even thank a random stranger on the road who did a kind deed for us. But the One who deserves our thanks the most is our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our God is good and He manifests His goodness in a multitude of ways every single day of our lives. You might not always see Him actively doing wonderful works in your life on a daily basis. But you can be sure that without the Lord’s goodness, you might not be living, breathing, or reading this devotional on a smartphone/computer today!

If you pause a minute, you’ll be able to bring to mind countless ways God has been gracious to you over the past few months. Even in times of difficulties, it’s God who has given you just enough wisdom, grace and strength to make it through another day. So, let’s make it a point to be intentionally grateful to the Lord for His goodness – today and every day.
