1 Corinthians 10:13 KJV “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
The above verse acknowledges the fact that temptation is real and common to all. Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself was tempted three times in the wilderness by satan.
However, He overcame each one of them, thus proving that we too, can do the same as long as we have a strong connection with our Father in heaven.
God knows the desires of our hearts. Nothing is hidden from Him. He blesses our strength and gives us the grace to overcome our weaknesses. Temptations come from the weakness of a man’s mind, but the Lord supplies the strength that is needed to overcome them. Our God is faithful and does not allow us to get tempted beyond our ability.
Conquering our temptations is not possible with our own strength, but with the supernatural strength of the Almighty God, the impossible becomes possible. So, if you are struggling with the temptations of the world and feel incapable and weak, do not despair. You are not alone. The loving God of the Holy Bible is with you in your frailty. He promises to deliver you and strengthen you in the process.
We are reminded not to be ashamed of our wrong pleasures and desires. Instead, acknowledge and recognise them and pray for God’s mercy and grace to overcome them. Our God is a wonderful guide and counselor who will never forsake us when we are tempted. He comes to our aid and gives us Godly wisdom and power to reject them and come out tougher.
