Living in the peace of God

Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all. 2 Thessalonians 3:16

Have you noticed how peaceful a sleeping baby looks? The child bathed, diapers changed, fed, living a worry-free life. Our heavenly Father, too, wants His children to live peaceful life.

However, our sinful world constantly strives to rob us of our peace. The office politics, the road rage, oppression towards the poor, and things like looking after the family, performing well at school, and being kind to those who don’t deserve it quickly snatch away our peace.

Humans try to find peace through hobbies, spending time with their loved ones, and going to therapy. Some turn to alcohol, drugs, and sex. Seeking worldly peace and pleasure may help, but only momentarily, and usually comes back with added anxiety and stress.

The only way to have a peaceful life is through the Prince of Peace. Jesus, too lived in this sinful world, yet; He was always calm. Sure He wept Lazarus died. His heart was moved with compassion when He saw the sick, but He was calm over every situation. Nothing could rock His boat because He was always united with God. He was obedient to death. He followed every instruction and sought the Father for everything.

He had the heavenly peace, and it is the same peace, He calls you and me to share. Stop running into situations that go against the word of God. Stop running away from problems you cannot control. Run to God instead, and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
