Perfect Peace through Lord Jesus

John 14:27

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

All around us we see multiple things that can steal our peace. The pandemic that we are facing has left many of our families and our friends in difficult situations. Many of us are going through the worst phase of our lives. Many have lost their loved ones, their jobs, their happiness and most importantly peace. 

The Lord Jesus comforts His disciples with His loving words here. He knew they would be going through very difficult circumstances in the days ahead. People would turn against them and even they will be killed. Lord Jesus tells them to not let their hearts be troubled nor let themselves be afraid, because HE would give them peace.

In this world, we will go through different seasons of life. The world will not give us peace or happiness. Even if we find peace or happiness, it will be temporary. Lord Jesus promises us peace in this verse. We need to choose to live in His  peace and not be afraid. We have got Jesus on our side and He has got peace for us when we experience fear!

Whatever circumstances we are going through today, let us remember to find rest in Him. Lord Jesus, the Prince of Peace is the only One who can give us perfect peace, and it is to Him alone that we should resort to, to find this peace that we seek. Let us ask Him to fill us with His peace. Philippians 4: 6-7 tells us not to be anxious about anything but submit our requests to God and He will fill our hearts with peace.
