Promise to Prosper

Psalm 62:6  He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved.

Often, people think troubles cannot move God’s children.

That isn’t so! Troubles can move us. But, God’s preordained plan for our life cannot be moved.

Joseph was only a teenager when his brothers plotted to kill him. Dramatically, God changed their mind, and they sold him to slave traders from the east.

Joseph moved to a different country, but God’s plan for his life remained constant.

He was sold to Potiphar, who realised that Joseph had unnatural success in everything he did. So, he made him his Personal Attendant. Yes, Joseph’s life was moving in the right direction. But, God had bigger plans for him.

Joseph’s loyalty to Potiphar was unquestionable. This wasn’t appreciated by Potiphar’s wife. When Joseph rejected her advances, she falsely accused him of immoral behaviour.

Joseph was moved again. His loyalty landed him in prison. At least now he should have been bitter and lost faith in God.

But, Joseph believed in God’s plan.

Months later, the king had a dream. When no one in the palace could interpret it, the cup-bearer – whose dream Joseph had interpreted in prison – told the king about him.

Joseph was moved once again. This time he went to the palace to interpret the king’s dream!

And the rest is history… Joseph went on to become the Prime Minister of Egypt!

When we anchor ourselves in the Lord, the troubled seas of life won’t have any hold on our destiny. It may toss us about, but it can’t drown God’s plan. His plan will come to pass!

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. -Jeremiah 29:11

Don’t let your present situation overwhelm you. Hang on to His promise!
