Reflecting Jesus

Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
I John 3:2

As soon as a mother conceives, the family begins to gleam with joy to welcome the new life in the family. On the other hand, while the baby is growing inside the mother’s womb, the baby does not know who it’s parents are, the baby does not know who it looks like and has no understanding in this case for that matter. However they learn over a period of time.

It is the same process in our spiritual journey, as we are born again, as we grow in the Lord, He reveals Himself to us through this journey. Just as children imitate there parents, our imitation of Christ should not be thought of as a mere mimicking of Jesus’ actions, but, the far deeper purpose is that in imitating Him we are becoming more and more like Him. We grow up to maturity in Christ The final result is that we shall become perfectly like Christ, for God has predestined us to be conformed that way.

Like 1 John 3:2 says Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed. When this day comes, we will witness His glory, face to face. For this is the entirety of God’s plan in our spiritual journey, that we will witness in His time.
