If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling,
no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. Psalm 91:9-10 (NIV)
We find safety and security in the presence of the Lord when we make Him our dwelling place. He keeps us safe from all dangers and protects us from harm. Fear and uncertainty are common in life, but God is a safe place to find comfort and peacefulness. He becomes our stronghold and fortress against life’s storms when we put our trust in Him and make Him the center of our existence.
Psalm 91:9–10’s promise reminds us that wickedness cannot touch us when we dwell in God, and plagues cannot approach our houses. Not that we won’t encounter obstacles or problems, but God will keep us safe while we navigate them. He is our constant source of support when things get tough.
We must believe in His unwavering love and depend on His fortitude to get us through each hardship. We can be confident that He will protect us from harm when we are in His presence.
To make God our refuge, we must trust Him and spend time with Him daily. We can do this by praying to Him, reading His word, and being grateful. We must believe that God keeps His promises and will care for us. When we feel worried or afraid, we can give our concerns to God and trust Him to help us. It’s important to obey what God says in the Bible and follow His guidance.
No matter what comes our way, the Lord is our shelter in the storm, our defender against every threat. May we abide in Him and experience the peace that comes from knowing we are safe in His hands.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We are grateful for Your protection from harm and evil, God. Please help us rest in knowing that You are constantly at our side and believe in your love. Keep us near to You and lead us in Your ways.
In Jesus’ Name.
Amen.
