Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Psalm 103:5
The verse clearly states that God’s abundant goodness satisfies our hearts and induces a renewal that is similar to the nature of an eagle.
In the hustle and bustle of our lives, we tend to seek satisfaction through various things; but true contemplation and satisfaction come through the eternal goodness of God alone. His blessings are limitless, be they small or big, and are never-ending. They always fill us with a sense of fulfilment and joy. His goodness rejuvenates our spirit to resemble an eagle that is ready to take its next flight, full of energy.
The goodness of God not only satisfies our physical needs and pleasures but also satisfies our innermost feelings. It replaces sorrows with joy and troubles with peace. Ultimately the old is gone and the new is born. The verse reminds us that God is the ultimate and the never-ending source of our satisfaction, peace, comfort and joy.
It is only through His grace and goodness that we have the resilience and enthusiasm to face each day.
So, now, as we start our day, let us be mindful of the goodness of God with gratitude and worship. As we do so, we experience renewal that goes beyond our physical body. Our hearts are lifted, our spirits soar, and our youth is renewed like the majestic eagle.
