Stand Firm in Freedom

Galatians 5:1 – “For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.”

It was a monumental occasion when India received freedom from the British, a day that is still celebrated decades later. The first Independence Day marked the end of a freedom struggle, and the beginning of a new India. Additionally, it has given our government the responsibility of defending the country against predators who may try to overpower us again.

In much the same way, we receive freedom from our sins and bondages when we accept Jesus as the Lord of our lives. But that is just the beginning of our new life. We must be diligent to guard our hearts from worldly attacks. The devil is waiting to usurp our freedom and control us again, but with God’s help we can resist his temptations.

Jesus Christ paid for your freedom with His life. Make a decision to be firmly rooted in His Word so you can remain free. Don’t let the enemy steal your peace, joy and freedom. When you spend time in God’s presence and follow His leading, you will be strengthened to resist the wiles of the devil. You are a child of God and you belong in His fold. Let Him lead you everyday.
