Psalm 31:24 – “Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord.”
Those who trust in the Lord Jesus Christ are the only group of people who can experience the peace that surpasses all understanding though they are in the middle of a crisis or experiencing grief (Philippians 4:7). The psalmist wrote this passage when he was going through an intense season of distress. The Hebrew meaning of this passage is likened to someone fleeing for protection, the protection of a fortress or a house of defense.
The audacity of a sanctified heart is in saying ‘Lord Jesus Christ, my times are in your hand (Psalm 31:15) and I will wait for you’. Waiting on our Lord Jesus Christ is possible only when we know the character of our Lord. Our God is unchanging (Hebrews 13:8), He is faithful (2 Thessalonians 3:3) and He will answer on time (Isaiah 65:24)
Those who know their God shall be strong and do exploits (Daniel 11:32). We are made strong through our Lord Jesus Christ in our body because we know Him as our great physician (Luke 4:40). We are stable mentally because He gives us wisdom when we ask for it (James 1:5-6). We are taken care of emotionally because we delight in the Lord’s strength (Nehemiah 8:10). Finally, we are strong spiritually because we pray in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and we receive His eternal will (John 14:13)
Our personal relationship with God is our number one focus, and God’s number one focus is us!
