Psalm 27:14
Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!
Have you ever waited so long for something that you started to wonder if it would ever happen? A job opportunity? A healing miracle? A relationship to be restored? Waiting can often feel like the hardest part of the journey.
Psalm 27:14 isn’t just about waiting—it’s about how we wait. “Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart.” We’re not told to wait restlessly, impatiently, or with anxiety. Instead, we are called to wait with trust, with hope, and with courage—not fear.
But why does the psalmist say “good courage”? Because waiting isn’t passive—it’s a spiritual discipline. Over time, delays can cause disappointment, and disappointment can lead to doubt. You start to wonder if God has forgotten you or if your prayers were even heard. That’s exactly when we need courage the most—not to push ahead, but to stand firm.
Courage in this context means trusting God’s timing even when you can’t trace His hand. It means holding onto your faith when the outcome is uncertain.
And here’s the promise: He will strengthen your heart. Not “He might,” but He will. God doesn’t just ask us to wait—He equips us with the strength to endure. His silence is never His absence.
So if you’re in a season of waiting, remember: God is working behind the scenes in ways you can’t yet see. Take heart, take courage, and wait on the Lord—your breakthrough is coming, right on time.
