The Grace in which we Stand

Romans 5:2 – “Through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”

Imagine being face to face with the Almighty God, the Creator of all things, and how powerful and sovereign He is.  Imagine how his dwelling might be.  This thought can put into perspective the greatness of our God, and how we absolutely need his mercies.

The Bible says that “because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.  They are new every morning.”  (Lamentations 3:22-23)

If Christ was not on our side, we would surely be destroyed.

It is only because we have been justified through faith that we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.  Justified means that we are declared or made righteous in the sight of God.  Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege, so if it wasn’t for Him, our mediator, we would not be able to enter into the presence of God.  Then, Christ helps us stand with boldness and confidence.  And finally, we can rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

It is wonderful that through Jesus we are able to receive God’s abundant provision of grace and the gift of righteousness;  that we are not condemned for our sins, but we are forgiven;  that He has made a way for us to enter into the presence of God;  that we have access to God’s grace;  and the amazing gift of eternal life.

Thank you Father for the Grace you extend to us, and for the Love you pour on us every day. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
