Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. (KJV)
Ships out in the sea, rely on lighthouses.
A lighthouse is a strong tower containing a powerful flashing lamp in a coastal area or island. The main purposes of a lighthouse are to serve as a navigational aid and to warn boats of dangerous areas. It is also a refuge for those who accidentally fall into the sea.
God’s word is the navigational tool in our journey of life. It is the powerful lighthouse that we can always look at for directions. We will be able to correct our path based on the instructions given in the word of God. It is a refuge and shelter in times of stress and problems.
Just as the way maps warn us of the blocked paths that we should avoid and display the best way forward, the word of God shows us the way ahead with godly characteristics we should carry on along our journey.
Being filled with the fruit of the Holy Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control) make our lives pleasing to God.
Let us ensure, we follow the God given map. Trust in Him. He is the light to our path, and He guides our steps.
