Blessed is the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Children reflect a self dependent attitude on everyone around them. They lack the fake charisma and confidence that over rides the entire world today. They are playful, innocent and do things from their heart. They do not make decisions based on some data, analytical or logical decree. They just do what they like to do because they are willing.Their hearts are willing to walk, to run, to swerve and at times just be quiet. The poor in spirit gladly cast their cares on to the Lord. They are ready to give an honest confession about their conduct and yet be willing to change.
Blessed are those who realize that they are spiritually bankrupt without the presence of the Lord. Their very heart aches to come every day in unison with Lord Almighty in prayer and stand alongside his presence to fight the battle of darkness. It’s easy to cultivate this seed in our lives and yet the willing heart and the poor in spirit know that the kingdom belongs to such as these.
