The Spirit of adoption

Romans 8:15:  For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

God has given us the Holy Spirit as the Spirit of adoption.  We are no longer slaves but free in the sight of God.  We are privileged to be called as the children of God.   Now that we are children, we have the access to go boldly in the presence of God and call Him Abba, Father.

It is only a biological child who can call his or her dad as father or daddy.  A neighbour’s child has no right to call somebody as daddy.  In the same way, since we are adopted into the family of God, we are entitled to call our God as daddy.  Just like how a child speaks to his or her father and expresses love and requests favor, we too can approach our heavenly Father on anything concerning us.  You can go to Him for anything and everything under the sun.  Tell Him your feelings of joy, frustration, sadness, weakness, breakups, and everything that you have been wanting to tell Him.  Pour out your hearts to Him.  He will be all ears to listen to you and comfort you for He is your Father.

Don’t be fearful when you approach Him on your knees.  Relax in His presence and praise Him for what He has done for you.  You are no more in bondage of fear or the law of sin and death.  Christ has set you free from the law of sin and death and given you the Spirit of life in Jesus.  Enjoy your relationship with God, your Father, and be blessed.
