Proverbs 18:21: Death and life are in the power of the tongue; and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
There has to be a check on what we speak and how we use our tongue. Use your tongue to bless and encourage people. You will eat the fruit thereof.
God spoke life and creation on the earth, and the earth produced every kind of beautiful things that we see, feel, hear, taste, etc. Jesus always spoke blessings in the life of people. He spoke words of comfort and life. He loved people and wanted them to live their life in the abundance that God had planned for them. He spoke life even in dead kind of situation, like Jairus’ daughter, Lazarus, and the son of the widow of Cain. Yes, He commanded and spoke life. He condemned sin but forgave the sinners. He spoke kind words to them. What are we doing with this tongue of our’s? Are we using it for self-praise and judging and condemning others? Are we using it negatively and against God’s word in the lives of people whom we dislike?
We don’t have any authority to speak bad or low of anyone. If we judge someone, we also will be judged. If we speak life and blessings in someone’s life, we will also eat the same fruit later in our lives. We will reap what we sow. If we love to bless, then we shall have blessings for ourselves. If we choose to curse, then it is absolutely right that we should eat the same fruit as a result of us sowing it. Choose what you want to do with your tongue today.
