II Corinthians 12:9: And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee; for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Paul had some kind of a trouble or weakness that compelled him to look unto God for prayer. God answered his prayer by telling him that His grace was sufficient for him. God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness.
God’s grace keeps us strong, loved, forgiven, hopeful, confident, etc. God’s grace helps us walk victoriously even when we feel defeated and crushed. There is nothing like His strength which is made perfect in our weakness. Weaknesses does not mean the bad choices that we sometimes make or deliberately falling into sinful pleasures and say it is our weakness. Weaknesses are those things that dry us of our strength through situational or circumstantial happenings. It can be a difficult divorce, a bad stormy condition, an incurable illness, etc. Weakness can also be in the form of insults or any kind of pain. There comes a thought in our mind that we can solve our troubles on our own but later find that we are unable to do so in our human strength because we cannot. That is when God’s grace comes into picture and His strength which is made perfect in our incapacitated moments.
Paul declares that he would rather be happy in his infirmities or weaknesses or trials so that God’s power may rest upon him and make him more humble. So when the enemy buffets us with pain and anguish and trouble, let us look unto God for strength and grace to move on.
Amen. So powerful.
Our God is a faithful God, He will never leave nor forsake us.
