Joy in the Morning

Psalm 30:5

Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

Have you ever stayed up through the night, worrying? When the house is pitch-dark and the world is asleep, problems feel twice as big. A bill you can’t pay, a broken relationship, or a heavy heart can make you feel completely trapped. In the dark, it feels like the morning will never come.

But God built a rule into the universe: The dark never wins. No matter how long the night lasts, the sun always shows up.

Hannah in the Bible knew all about long, dark nights. She desired to have a baby, but struggled with infertility even after many years of marriage. To make things worse, people around her teased her and made fun of her pain. Her heart was totally broken.

When Hannah went to the place of worship, she was crying so unbearably that she couldn’t even speak out loud. Although her lips were moving, she silently cried out to God in her heart. She felt empty, alone, and hopeless. But she didn’t give up. She left her pain with God.

And guess what? God heard Hannah’s prayers. She gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Samuel. The woman who used to cry herself to sleep was now singing songs of pure joy. Her sad season had a strict expiration date.

If you’re crying today or feeling exhausted by life, please hear this: Your current pain is not your final destination. It’s okay to cry. It’s okay to feel tired. God doesn’t expect you to fake a smile. But remember Hannah’s story. Your night has an end date. God sees your tears, and He is already working on your “morning”. Hang on just a little longer. The light is coming.
