Refreshed to Refresh

Proverbs 11:25

The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself.

This is a principle that God built into life itself. Hearts that pour out do not run dry. God keeps filling them. The world teaches people to hold tightly to what they have. Protect your time. Guard your resources. Think of yourself first. Yet Scripture shows a different path.

Jesus took five loaves and two fish from a willing boy and fed thousands. The widow of Zarephath gave Elijah her last meal, and God kept her jar from running empty. Tabitha used her hands to serve the poor, and her life touched an entire community. None of these people were famous or powerful. They simply gave what they had.

Generosity goes beyond money. A teenager can encourage a lonely classmate. A father can listen patiently after a hard day. A grandmother can pray faithfully for her family. A friend can send one timely message that lifts someone out of despair. Small acts become holy when love fuels them.

Many people wait to feel “full” before serving others. God often works the other way around. As you refresh others, He refreshes you. Joy grows while you give it away. Strength rises while you help someone else. Peace deepens while you comfort another hurting soul. God never wastes a generous heart.

Today, ask God to make you attentive to people around you. Someone near you carries silent burdens behind a smile. Be the voice that encourages, the hand that helps, and the person who notices.

A stagnant pond collects decay. A flowing river stays fresh. God did not create your life to become a storage tank of blessings, but a river that carries His kindness everywhere it flows.
