Glorious Future

1 John 3:2

Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

John gives us a breathtaking reminder: we are now children of God. Not someday, not after we become perfect, but right now through Christ, we belong to God.

The world often defines people by appearance, success, failure, marks, salary, followers, or past mistakes. However, God speaks differently. He calls His people His children. That truth changes everything. A child carries the family name, receives the father’s love, and walks freely into the home. God does not keep His children at a distance. He welcomes them close.

John says, “It has not yet been revealed what we shall be.” In other words, God is still shaping us into His likeness. Peter failed publicly, yet Jesus restored him. As a result, Peter boldly led others after once denying Christ. David began as a shepherd boy, yet God raised him up as a king. Society viewed the disciples as ordinary men, but Christ transformed them into people who changed the world. God sees beyond the unfinished version of your life.

One day, every struggle with sin, fear, weakness, and pain will end. When Christ appears, we will be like Him, and we’ll finally see Him as He truly is. No shadows, no confusion, and no distance. Indeed, that future is not fantasy; Jesus Himself guarantees that promise.

So do not measure your life only by what you see in the mirror today. God sees what you are becoming. A sculptor looks beyond rough stone and sees the masterpiece hidden inside. In the same way, God already sees the glory. His grace is shaping you.
