Psalm 145:18
The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.
God is not distant. He is near and available to those who call upon His name. The Bible calls Him “Emmanuel”, God with us. He’s not far away from us, but with us. This verse emphasises the most important condition that draws us closer to God: calling on Him in “truth”. When we are humble and sincere in our approach, God draws near to us.
This is a beautiful promise of comfort, strength, and hope that we can rely on. God is always available for His people. When we go through difficult, uncertain challenges, He will meet us where we are. This should encourage us to draw near to Him daily in prayer and devotion – to lay down our fears and failures, to exalt Him, and to praise Him for his mercy and greatness.
Calling on God is an act of prayer and heartfelt communication. It expresses our dependence on Him who is able and mighty to save us. No matter what you are facing today, know that God is not distant from your reality but knows your pain, confusion, and struggle.
Whether it is a whispered prayer, a silent cry, a joyful expression of praise and thanksgiving, or an outpouring of your heart through tears and confessions – God hears, He sees, and He responds to your call.
Let us not hesitate to approach our loving God. Let’s honour and worship the great King. He is our great High Priest. So, let us boldly approach the throne room of grace.
